How to Change a Routine When the Season Changes

Spring skin is winter skin that has not been told the heater is off.

Velora Beauty

The first warm week tempts a full reset. Skin does not want one. It wants the heavy cream reconsidered, the sunscreen taken seriously, and the acid you abandoned in January reintroduced slowly. Winter routines fail in spring because they were built for radiators. A thick balm that saved you in February can congest you in April. That does not mean you throw out the cleanser that still works.

Change one thing. If you are shiny by noon, move to a lighter moisturizer and keep the serum. If you are breaking out, check whether you are still layering an occlusive oil for glow. If you are dull, a gentle exfoliating toner three nights a week will do more than a new scrub used once with enthusiasm. Sunscreen stops being theoretical the week you start eating lunch outside.

A facial in this season is a good moment for a consult, because someone else can see the congestion you have started to treat as your face. Book the job, not the mood. Then go back to a routine that is only slightly different from the one that got you through winter.
