What an Eye Cream Is For, and What It Is Not
An eye cream is a gentler moisturizer for thin skin. It is not a lift in a jar.

The eyelid and the under-eye are thin, they move constantly, and they show both dryness and swelling. An eye cream exists because some face creams are too heavy or too active for that skin. A good one feels comfortable, does not migrate into the eye, and softens the look of dryness. Caffeine can temporarily tighten the look of puffiness. Peptides and bakuchiol are for people who want a gentler alternative to putting retinoid near the lash line. None of this rebuilds the bone or the fat that made a hollow.
It is not a treatment for allergies, a substitute for sleep, or a reason to rub. Rubbing is how fine skin gets creased faster. Tap a small amount on bone, not on the wet line of the eye. If your face cream is bland and does not sting, you may not need a separate jar at all. The separate jar earns its place when the eye is the area that flakes or reacts.
