Dull Skin Is Often Dehydration, Not a Missing Serum
Flat light on the face is usually missing water, not a missing miracle.

Dullness gets treated like a shopping problem. The face looks flat, so another brightening serum joins the shelf. Often the surface is simply short of water. Dry indoor air, a foaming cleanser that leaves skin tight, and skipping moisturizer because the face feels oily will all do it. Oil and dehydration share a face more often than people admit. Shine on top, tightness underneath.
The fix is order, not a new bottle. Cleanse without stripping. Put a hydrating serum on damp skin so you are sealing water, not only oil. Follow with a cream your skin does not dread. Sunscreen in the day, because a tan is not radiance and pigment makes tone look muddy. Give that combination two weeks before you decide you need an acid.
Drink water if you are thirsty. A single glass will not polish a cheek by evening, and chronic dehydration does not help anything, including skin. Alcohol and a new exfoliant on the same night is how dull becomes flaky. If the face is gray and you are exhausted, sleep is the treatment the serum is impersonating.
