What an Everyday Exfoliating Toner Should Do
An everyday acid toner should refine, not announce itself. Strength you cannot repeat is not strength.

A toner used to mean witch hazel and a sting you mistook for cleanliness. An exfoliating toner is a different tool. Alpha hydroxy acids, used in a low, repeatable dose, loosen the bonds between dead surface cells so skin looks smoother and pores look less packed. The dose is the whole argument. A toner you can use most nights will outperform a toner you can use on Sundays and then hide from.
D22 Tonic is aimed at that everyday job. Glycolic and lactic acid do the exfoliating. Arnica and niacinamide are there so the formula is not only an acid dare. It is not a photocopy of every cult lotion that came before it, and it does not need to be. You are replacing a function: less congestion, a more even feel, no drama. Glycerin sits in the supporting cast, holding water so the acid is not working on a dry face.
Introduce it every other night if you are new to acids, after cleansing and before serum and cream. If you are tight or shiny in a sore way, you are using it too often or skipping the cream. Back off. An everyday toner earns the name by disappearing into the week, not by becoming the week’s event.
