What an Acid Toner Has to Do to Stay in the Routine
An acid earns a permanent place only if you can use it often enough to matter.

An acid toner stays because it does a small job reliably: smoother feel, fewer little clogs, no drama that makes you hide the bottle. Strength you can only bear on Sundays is not an everyday toner. It is an occasional peel wearing a cotton round. The dose you repeat beats the dose you admire. That is the standard, and it is stricter than a launch.
D22 Tonic is aimed at that standard. Glycolic and lactic acid do the exfoliating. The rest of the formula exists so the acid is not the only event on the skin. It still requires a cream after it, and it still requires you to back off when the face is tight or sore-shiny. A toner that demands you suffer is failing the job, even if the congestion improved for a week.
Keep it if, after a month, you still use it and the skin is calmer or clearer than when you were using nothing. Retire it if you are negotiating with it. The routine should be able to forget the toner is special. That forgetfulness is what “stay” means.
